To the middle children of the world, we see you. We know that you’re always around narrating the most unhinged situations your family ends up involved in, while nobody seems to notice the craziness you bring among yourselves. Mondays have nothing on you. If you're the middle child, there is no doubt that you’re resilient, smart, and very good under pressure. Definitely, growing up is realizing that being the middle child is actually sort of like a superpower.

Different type of genius

The way I see it, Malcolm is not the only genius in this family. Yes, he’s the only one scoring a 165 on his IQ test, but there is no doubt Reese can be brilliant too, when he wants to execute the perfect prank. Also, there is no other 7-year-old who can understand the tricks and manipulation needed to succeed in the political world, and there is no denying that Francis has a clear ability when it comes to misbehaving. Similarly, I would call Hal a diplomacy expert, as he always manages to get out of trouble and, of course, there’s Lois. No one could handle that family as she does; nothing gets past her.
This all comes to prove that genius is not always a numerical measurement. Sometimes, the smartest people can be found in the most unexpected scenarios. For example, only true geniuses start their week by going back to this unmatched TV universe, for there is nothing that cannot be solved with a much-needed dose of comedic perfection. And, as if we weren’t lucky enough to meet the Wilkersons in the first place, we now have a part 2. It could not get any better.
